Now , onto the first impressions. Here's a week of my first impressions. Do note that the impressions stated are coming from a person who never typed on a Mechanical keyboard before.
The Logitech G710+ felt very sturdy in hand compared to my previous RM20 rubberdome keyboard. The weight of this keyboard actually surprised me , well of course coming from a rubber dome user for years. It is weighing in at a whopping 1.5kg! The G710+ uses Cherry MX Brown mechanical key switches that have a slight tactile bump for feedback which is good to know if you've registered the key or not. But for me , I am used to bottoming out on it.
There are lots of Cherry key switches but Blue , brown , red and black are the most commonly used on a lot of Gaming oriented keyboards.
The G710+ might be a little costly , (which most mech keyboards are). It would last for a very long time compared to the most commonly used membrane rubber domes. Not to mention , feels a lot better typing with it.
At first of getting this , my fingers were all over the wrong buttons because of the different layouts to the previous one. I'm slowly getting use to it now!
(brown switches and o-rings)
The Logitech G710+ also comes with included "o-rings" which dampens sound when bottoming out. Without it , it would be VERY loud , but if you like the sound of CLACK CLACK CLACK hitting the base of the keyboard , you are most welcomed to remove the o-rings. The o-rings does it's job perfectly as mentioned , great for people who doesn't want to annoy the hell out of people with the CLACK's and the sound compared to rubber domes are more or less similar with it!
(I personally chose this is because of the included o-rings!)
I'm liking it so far! Let's just say I WANT to type more often now , that's how good mech keyboards are. Well of course , dependent on your preferred key switches too!
The review will be done after I use it for the next few weeks! Of course , that's for a proper review! :)
